About

On building — and being built by — the work.

I build software, teams, and the operating systems that make both work. Most of my career has been spent in the messy middle between engineering and product, where decisions are rarely clean and the right answer is almost never the loudest one.

I grew up programming when documentation arrived in printed manuals, and I have built professionally through the shifts to mobile, cloud, and now generative systems. Each transition has reinforced the same lesson: technology is the easy part. The harder, more durable work is in clarity — of problem, of priority, and of who is responsible for what.

Today I focus on senior leadership work — designing organisations, mentoring leaders, and helping teams move from heroics to a calmer, more compounding pace. I write occasionally about the parts of this craft that go unsaid.

Outside work I read more history than is reasonable, walk early, and keep a small notebook of things I want to remember. If our paths might usefully cross, the quickest way to reach me is the contact form on this site.
